Anne Colvin’s classes explore nature through movement, drawing attention to both the micro and macro: from tiny, discarded seed heads to the sweeping bluster of the wind. Through these elements, we create relationships with the body—guided by the sensations, stories, and feelings that emerge in the moment.

Using a movement framework with a focus on spatial elements and movement quality, and enriched with words, images, and objects, we’ll uncover metaphors that arise organically, and curate environments that invite serious play, foster curiosity, and deepen connection with others.

Anne is a highly experienced dance artist, choreographer, and creative practitioner. She is co-director of imprint, a collaborative partnership with visual artist Matt Walker, connecting with nature through creativity. Together they facilitate enriching experiences for participants and audiences through workshops, film, and immersive live performance. Their work centres on meaningful co-creation, guided by and in response to wild spaces; the imprints we take and those we leave behind.

Hello, I’m Gill

I can answer any questions you have about classes.

FAQs

  • Our teachers all have experience working with older dancers and people with a wide range of injuries and ailments, or low energy levels.

Please be sure to talk to them of any concerns that you may have.

It may be advisable to sign up for a trial class before committing to the full course.

  • Wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in.

Most dancers dance in bare feet, but feel free to wear soft trainers if you prefer.

  • We respond to requests for refunds on a case by case basis.

If a refund is offered it will usually take the form of credit towards a future class or TSD activity.

See our refund policy on the website.

  • As a rule we only accept payment for the whole term or course.

In some circumstances, we can make an exception, (for instance if the class is under subscribed.)

  • The Contemporary Dance for 55+ Beginners' class is aimed at people with little or no recent dance experience.

We expect people joining the General level class and Creative classes to have had at least a year's experience.

These levels are only intended as a guide. If you are interested in a class, we suggest you sign up for a trial to find out if it suits you.

  • We offer class fees at 50% discount for dancers in receipt of Pension or Universal Credit

Do contact us if you are prevented from joining a class for financial reasons. We have a Bursary scheme and may be able to help in other ways.
